- Place the extender in the same room as the Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure you have a live internet connection coming from the main router.
- Plug the extender into an electrical outlet and wait for the Power LED to become solid. If the extender does not turn on, press the On/Offbutton on the side panel.
- Connect a wired computer or any wireless device that has a web browser (i.e. Wireless Computers, Android phones, iPhone, tablets, etc.) to the WN3000RPv3.
- For wired connection, connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the extender and wait for the LAN port LED to start blinking.
- For wireless connection, look for the wireless network name, ‘NETGEAR_EXT’and connect to it. Once connected, wait for the Client Link LED to turn solid green.
- Launch a web browser to begin installation using NETGEAR genie. Select WiFi Range Extender(Wireless)and click Continue.
- Wait for the extender to show the available networks within the range, then select your network and click Continue.
- Type the password of your main wireless network and click Continue.
- By default, the SSID is the name of your wireless network followed by _EXTat the end. If you would like to use the same security and password as your main wireless network, select Use the same security and password as those for the existing network. Click Continue.
- You will be informed that the wireless settings on your extender have been changed. Connect to your network and click Continue.
- Once connected, you will be asked to check the LED on the extender to see if you have a good connection. If the connection is good, click Finish. buy now.
